Sustainability at A.P. Moller - Maersk
Maersk’s environmental, social and governance commitments to sustainable, responsible global supply chains
Our approach to sustainable impact
Maersk is a purpose driven company and always has been. Increasing complex global supply chains drive the need for integrated logistics to run a world with 8+ billion people. We aim to fulfil that need by sustainably and responsibly delivering better, simpler and more reliable outcomes for our customers – improving life for all by integrating the world.
Sustainability strategy and governance
Our Sustainability strategy is centered around three core ambitions supported by priorities and actions across a variety of environmental, social and governance focus areas. These ambitions are where Maersk can deliver the greatest impact.
Engaging with our stakeholders
Our stakeholders expect us to act on the issues they care about and where Maersk has the ability to make a significant difference. When defining our sustainability priorities, we focus on seven key stakeholder groups: employees & contingent workers; customers; authorities, regulators & standard setters; suppliers and business partners; investors and analysts; local communities & nature; and civil society organisations.
Experts across our organisation continually engage with these groups, incorporating their input and feedback in the identification of material issues that we address as a company.
Our policies and positions
We have established policies and positions that describe how we act on specific issues across ESG, including decarbonisation, environment, human rights, and engagement with trade associations.
