Our client is one of Europe's biggest appliance manufacturers and an industry leader with over 40 factories across five continents, producing and developing high-tech domestic appliances and offering first-class solutions to households around the world.
Despite their success and recognized international prestige, the distance between Europe and Latin America was a major challenge, so the company needed a trusted service provider to operate in Chile and deliver a faster and more flexible response to their customers in the region.
The challenge
The challenge for this European manufacturer was to find a strategic ally that not only had the capacity to store their products in Chile but could also add efficiency and agility to the operation. This partner would need to improve control of their cargo in every link in the chain, from storage to labeling and the preparation of orders, down to the ’last mile‘, with direct delivery to the customer.

The solution

Its strategic location in southern Santiago is also close to the main retail distributors and connected to the entire country by highway.
The facility provided the space and technical equipment for organized and safe storage of all types of products, from ‘clam-type’ forklifts that ensure proper handling of goods, to a team in charge of scheduling and coordinating with customers to ensure delivery on time and in form.
Maersk provided a comprehensive logistics solution that included storage, inventory control, labeling, boxing, and securing of the customer’s domestic appliances, in addition to the preparation of orders and ’last-mile‘ distribution to diverse retailers and customers. Together with online tracking, this allowed the company and end-users to control and view orders in real-time.
The result
Maersk’s comprehensive storage and distribution solution reduced delivery times and improved the response capacity of this leading domestic appliance manufacturer regarding their customers and distributors. The last-mile tracking system gave the company control over their products in real-time and allowed them to immediately respond to unforeseen events, significantly improving service.
