How Maersk Air Freight improves speed and efficiency using multi-model solutions.
The Customer
A multinational athletic apparel retailer headquartered in the United Kingdom, the customer’s product category includes yoga pants, other yoga wear, athletic wear, lifestyle apparel accessories and even personal care products. With over 500 stores globally and a robust e-commerce presence, the company has made a name for itself in the athleisure sector.
The Challenge
The customer was on the verge of opening 16 new stores. They needed to issue immediate import permits, deliver small cargos per store, and designate delivery dates and times to each of them. Being a lifestyle brand, it was a priority for the company to bring the latest fashionwear to its customers during the season. Due to this requirement, no delays could be afforded. Such a time-sensitive requirement needs the support of a trustworthy logistics partner.
The Solution
Once the cargo was picked up from its origin, the Maersk team checked the required documents for import customs clearance and paid the duty and tax from the customer’s deposit.
Maersk’s integrated logistics solution helped the customer increase their efficiency with respect to timelines. Since we were their only logistics partner, we were able to simplify the supply chain efficiently and smoothen out the entire transportation process.
The Result
All 16 cargo shipments were delivered on time using custom designated trucks based on the size of the cargo. The customer was able to open all 16 stores concurrently with full stock.
