KiwiRail have confirmed that a Block of Line (BOL) is scheduled during the upcoming Matariki Weekend to enable delivery of critical track maintenance across the Auckland rail network.

The Auckland Block of Line will be in effect from Friday 10th July at 7:30 am through to Sunday 12th July at 6:00 pm and during this period no trains (or road-bridging service) will move between Auckland and Tauranga.

To help manage the expected backlog, supplementary return services have been confirmed for:

  • Wednesday 8th July (prior to the BOL), and
  • Wednesday 15th July (following the BOL)

Our teams will continue to work closely with KiwiRail to support these supplementary services and manage the expected backlog, with further updates to be shared as required.
