Maersk Operations through Red Sea/ Gulf of Aden
Following the successful transit with Maersk Sebarok in December 2025, on 11-12 January 2026, the US-flagged the U.S.-flagged Maersk vessel Maersk Denver, currently operating on the MECL service, successfully transited the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and into the Red Sea. The safety of our crew, vessels and cargo remains of utmost importance to us, and the necessary safety measures were applied during transit.
While there are no additional sailings to announce at this time, assuming that security thresholds continue to be met, we will continue our stepwise approach towards gradually resuming navigation along the East-West corridor via the Suez Canal and the Red Sea.
Vessel contingency
Any update on vessel contingencies will continue to be communicated with customers on a case-by-case basis. Please make sure to keep visiting our online tracker, which will be updated with the latest scheduling information as soon as they become available.
Surcharges
The previously announced Transit Disruption Surcharge (TDS), Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) and Emergency Contingency Surcharge (ECS) for all cargo on vessels affected by the disruptions around the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden remain in effect. Read below the details according to location.
