We wish to advise that due to an incident on RIO MADEIRA 405N at Melbourne, the Melbourne departure of the vessel was affected, thus resulting in a scheduled delay into New Zealand.
To mitigate any further impact to forward scheduling and to avoid a slide on the Southern Star service, RIO MADEIRA 402S/405N will now omit Napier.
The contingency plan for affected cargo is as follows:
- Napier export cargo previously on RIO MADEIRA 405N will be updated to load either MAERSK RIO INDIA 406N or J-Star vessel COSCO FELIXSTOWE 185N, depending on the discharge port.
- Napier import cargo previously on RIO MADEIRA 402S from the hubs and Melbourne will now discharge in Lyttelton to connect J-Star vessel GSL KITHIRA 405N for Napier discharge.
- Tauranga to Napier coastal cargo will still load RIO MADEIRA 405N but will now discharge in Lyttelton to connect J-Star vessel GSL KITHIRA 405N for Napier discharge.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your ongoing trust and support in Maersk as your supply chain partner.
