Desigual is a leading fashion brand, famous for the individuality and unique character of its creations. The company currently has a workforce of over 3,700 employees and is present in 92 countries through 10 sales channels and over 500 branded stores. They were looking for an accomplished warehousing and distribution partner for a strategic fulfilment centre with value-added services. The need of the hour was a scalable solution that would streamline their e-commerce fulfilment and distribution model - a partnership with a priority on high service levels, commitment and a desire to grow with them.
Desigual was looking to upscale their online presence to complement their thriving retail business in Asia Pacific and give worldwide customers a seamless ordering and delivery experience that would reflect the iconic brand. Transitioning to an omni-channel supply chain undoubtedly came with many challenges for their distribution centre in Hong Kong. Apart from dealing with a high volume of orders during peak times, manually counting, checking off and updating discrepancies for many different products led to repeated errors and a cramped warehouse that was difficult to manage. Faced with these challenges, Desigual set out to find a warehousing partner with best-in-class e-commerce fulfilment, picking and packaging solutions.
Our warehouse automation solutions worked perfectly to fulfil Desigual’s needs. Technology plays a crucial part in future-proofing our operations. To that effect, the latest Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) deployed in our warehouse and distribution centre in Hong Kong enabled us to deliver the next wave of supply chain innovation and simplification. Today the combination of scanners, picking list and tags with warehouse control systems and automated parcel handling equipment is a winning formula in Desigual’s picking and packing process.
We were able to ensure warehouse safety and operational efficiency for our customer. Results show a significant improvement in performance, largely led by a reduction in both delivery time and processing errors.
Meeting customer demand within e-commerce requires increased adoption of warehouse automation solutions to keep operational efficiency and complexity in check. Warehouse automation is built for scale and can deliver higher output and more accurate order fulfilment. With this new initiative in Hong Kong, we aim to deliver a better experience for our customers by improving their margins through faster delivery time and a reduced cost of wrong orders.
