Confirmation of payer information and payer amendment fee

To improve your documentation experience and the quality of our invoices for your shipments, we are implementing a new policy from 1st of June 2019.

Before an invoice is issued for a booking, you can adjust the payer or payment terms unlimited. There has been no chance here.
Once an invoice is issued and a request for a change in the payer or payment terms different from the ones initially indicated by you, Maersk will apply a fee that will be reported as follows:

Payer Amendment Fee – Origin (PAO)

*In case the origin of the booking is not Spain, the payer amendment fee might vary depending on the country of origin.

The fee will be applied for adjustment requests created on or after 1st of June 2019, prompting a re-issue of the invoice.

Maersk offers different ways to check if the payer information is correctly processed:

1. All payer information will be available on the draft Bill of Lading, as well as any changes to the payer information during the shipment lifecycle. Please always check the draft Bill of Lading to prevent any Amendment Fees.
2. Additionaly, all customers can access a quick overview of their Payment data on our website. All general payer instructions are easy accessible to make sure Maersk has your correct Payment data.

Please access our website for a full overview of agreed payer standing instructions, your shipments, shipment binder instructions, specific booking instructions. Having your data correct in our systems will prevent fees. Please have a look how to access and update your payment data here
