Situation at DP WORLD Terminals in Australia

The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has tendered notice of legal rolling industrial actions at DPW terminals, including actions such as: bans on overtime, shift extensions and delayed start and finish time. These actions are expected to begin from 22 Mar 2019, and continue for an indefinite period at Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Fremantle.

We have been in discussions with DPW to see how best to minimise the impact of any actions on our published schedules. 

The MUA have now provided 5 working days’ notice to DPW on work stoppages at the following sites between the following times; 1 pm to 2 pm, 2 pm to 3 pm and 10 pm to 11pm.

• SYDNEY, 22 Mar 2019 - Vessel alongside : No impact on any vessel at this time.
• MELBOURNE, 23 Mar 2019 - Vessel alongside: MSC ANYA/913R service to NE Asia
• BRISBANE, 24 Mar 2019 - Vessel alongside: NYK FUTAGO/ 055N: service to New Zealand

At this stage, the impact to the schedule could be between 8 to 16 hours, though we expect to have sufficient buffer, at this time, to manage the delays.
