Progressive Tier Structure means at the end of the free time period, per diem begins at the rate tier applicable based on the consumed free days. To better understand, below example for your reference:

POL, SGH
Equip type, 20GP
Tariff freetime, 1-7days, free
8-15 days, CNY100/day
16-20 days, CNY240/day
21 days onwards, CNY300/day

If you enjoyed 14 days special freetime but total used 25 days, you will be charged CNY100/container in the 15th day and CNY240/container since from 16th, day to 20th day, and CNY300/container since from 21st day to 25th, day. The total DnD amount will be CNY100*1+CNY240*5+CNY300*5=CNY2,800.

Your Combined Demurrage & Detention will be calculated from the day empty container picked up (included), cancelled shipments will not enjoy free time.
