Effective immediately, due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East, temporary restrictions have been implemented impacting the acceptance and handling of Dangerous Goods (DG) cargo in specific locations.
Israel – Port Restrictions
Port authorities in Haifa and Ashdod have introduced additional Dangerous Goods limitations. The following DG classes are prohibited:
- Class 1 – Explosives
- Class 2.1 – Flammable gases
- Class 2.3 – Toxic gases
- Class 5.2 – Organic peroxides
In addition, several specific UN numbers are restricted in accordance with port authority directives.
These restrictions apply to import, export, and transshipment cargo via Israeli ports and remain in effect until further notice.
Selected Middle East Countries – Full DG Prohibition
All Dangerous Goods cargo is prohibited to and from the following countries: United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
The prohibition applies to all DG classes and covers import, export, and transshipment movements.
Operational Impact
New bookings containing restricted cargo will not be accepted. Existing bookings may be subject to cancellation, delay, or rerouting depending on operational feasibility. Customers are advised to review and adjust supply chain planning accordingly.
These restrictions are temporary and remain subject to change based on local authority guidance and ongoing developments.
