In alignment with our commitment to maintain reliable and efficient services, please be informed that Maersk Canada will be implementing an Inland Peak Season Surcharge—Imports (IPI) on all cross-border refrigerated shipments discharging in the United States and trucking to Toronto and Montreal, effective July 1st, 2025, through October 31st, 2025.
This temporary surcharge is necessary to mitigate increased inland transportation costs resulting from constrained reefer trucking capacity during the citrus season. The seasonal nature of this volume surge has triggered a significant cost increase from our trucking partners.
Details of the Surcharge:
- Surcharge Name: Inland Peak Season Surcharge—Imports (IPI)
- Amount: USD 75 per container
- Scope: Cross-border reefer shipments from the United States to Toronto and Montreal
- Effective Date: July 1st, 2025
- Expiration Date: October 31st, 2025
- Mode: All truck-inland shipments involving reefer containers
- Impact: All inbound cargo from US east coast to Canada
