DP World Southampton announced on August 28th, 2026, the incentive rate effective for the last quarter of this year.
The current incentive is in place until 30th September 2026, please note highlights of the scheme for the rest of this month:
- The MSP incentive rate will remain at GBP 50.00 per import laden container within the MSP zone. For the import clearing agent who makes the customs declaration.
- Rail Freight Terminal Operators (RFTOs) will gain an incentive rate of GBP 20.00 per import laden container moved Via rail again within the MSP zone.
- A MSP Fee of GBP 10.00 will be applied to all import laden containers. This remains unchanged.
- This scheme does not apply to road.
For the next period of the scheme 1st October 2026 to the end of December 2026, please note the below details:
- The MSP incentive rate will decrease to GBP 35.00 per import laden container within the MSP zone. For the import clearing agent who makes the customs declaration.
- The Rail Freight Terminal Operators (RFTOs) will gain an increased performance based incentive rate of GBP 35.00 per import laden container moved Via rail again within the MSP zone. Noting that this is based on volumes being achieved.
- A MSP Fee of GBP 10.00 will be applied to all import laden containers. This remains unchanged.

The next review of the scheme will take place the last week of November to which will be passed on thereafter for January 1st levels 2027.
Intermodal railheads within DP World Southampton MSP Incentive Zone include:
Avonmouth, Barry Dock, Birmingham Hams Hall, Birmingham (BIFT), Birch Coppice, Birmingham Landor Street, Bristol, Cardiff, Daventry, East Midlands Gateway, DP World London Gateway, Northampton and Portbury.
The MSP Incentive zone is approx. 140 miles.
