Arrival Notice Notifications - Subscription and Confidentiality

As part of our standard shipping deliverables, Maersk provides an Arrival Notice document ( ANF ) to the consignee and notify party in advance of the shipment's arrival at South African ports. This practice ensures that all authorised parties are adequately informed and prepared for cargo clearance and collection.

For your ease and convenience, you may access your ANF in two ways:-

1. The ANF automatically becomes available in your doc pouch on Maersk.com, 7-8 days prior vessel ETA – simply log in and retrieve your ANF.
2. Our customers may also subscribe and receive an ANF copy directly via email.

We remind our customers to utilise these two methods. For further instruction please follow the simple step by step guidelines - South Africa Imports | Maersk (subscribe to receive Arrival Notice Notifications). With these channels in place – there is no need to contact Maersk for your ANF – it is ready and available online.

For Clearing Agents (who may not be a party to the shipment), we kindly request that you obtain a copy of the ANF directly from the consignee or notify party you are representing on a subject shipment. Should the need arise to request an ANF directly from Maersk, this will request can only be processed with the submission of either :-

• A Letter of Authorization from the consignee or cargo owner – signed by the consignee on company letter head
• A copy of the relevant Bill of Lading.

No ANFs will be issued without presentation of one of the above. This this is done to ensure data confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and the protection of our customers sensitive information and becomes effective from 22nd April.
