Update 03
A.P. Moller – Maersk is continuing to monitor the ongoing situation in Israel and doing all in its power to ensure the safety of its employees and the fluidity of its customers’ supply chains.
Maersk transport – ocean, rail, road and limited air – services remain operational at this time and bookings to and from Israel continue to be accepted and facilitated.
For dangerous goods, however, the Port of Haifa and the Port of Ashdod have both issued restrictions on specific items. If you have dangerous goods already on the water, we are reviewing options to discharge at alternative locations and will reach out to you directly if you are affected. We are also restricting loading for bookings of unpermitted dangerous goods that aren’t yet gated in to avoid potential future congestion. We will continue to monitor the acceptance policies and adapt accordingly. For new bookings, acceptance has been adjusted as per the current dangerous goods restrictions at both terminals.
In light of the ongoing circumstances, we want to ensure our customers have optimal flexibility and can adjust their logistics operations with ease.
As such, we are announcing a number of support packages for customers with cargo in Israel or bound for Israel. Full details below:
- Free Change of Destination (COD) service fee – subject to re-stowage and shifting costs, plus any ocean freight price difference to the new destination*
- Detention and Demurrage (D&D) clock stop for all locations in Israel between 8th October 2023 and 8th December 2023**
- Waived SPOT booking amendment / cancellation fee for all export and import cargo to/from Israel until further notice***
*Valid until further notice for import containers on water to Israel and containers gated in full at first loading port bound for Israel. Deadline for COD requests is 3 days prior to the estimated arrival time at transhipment port, and five days prior to the estimated arrival time at final (original) discharge port

Our teams have drawn up contingency plans against all feasible forms of operational instability, and these will be put into action should they be necessary. The situation is subject to change at short notice, but we will communicate all new information to our customers as soon as possible.
Please don’t hesitate to contact your local representative if you have any further questions on the announced relief packages or require assistance.
