Kindly note starting from 12th July 2023, all import shipment to Mogadishu, Somalia must have Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) mentioned on bill of lading.

In order to avoid delays during goods clearance at the port of entry and to enhance the country's security, the Minister for Ports and Marine Transport expects all involved actors to comply with the requirement.

Effective from July 31st, 2023 if Electronic Cargo Tracking note(ECTN) reference number is missing for Mogadishu, Somalia import shipments, the orignal bill of lading will not be issued. Any shipments for missing ECTN number the containers will not be allowed to be discharged in Mogadishu, Somalia and will be retained on board (ROB).

The ECTN reference number can only be obtained from the official website: www.ctnsomalia.com
