Revision of Import Demurrage and Detention Tariffs in Papua New Guinea

We would like to inform you that we have decided to make some changes on our Import Demurrage and Detention Tariffs into Papua New Guinea effective from 1 April 2023.

Please note that if you foresee that you will need to use Maersk’s import containers for a period that exceeds the alloted free time per container, you are able to benefit from Maersk’s Free Time extension product! This product enables you to purchase additional days after the expiry of the container’s free time period, which can be up to 80% less than the daily detention and demurrage charge.

The new Import Detention Tariffs that are applicable upon expiry of the standard free time period are as below. Please note that these tariffs are charged per container and per calendar day.
