Mogadishu
Maersk accepts shipments to and from the Port of Mogadishu in Somalia.
Imports to Mogadishu arrive in our Carrier vessel fortnightly. All containers are stripped in the port and cargo sent onwards on customer's own arrangements. The maximum gross weight limit for Mogadishu is 35mts.
Freight charges can be paid in Somalia with the agreement of our agent, Bollore transport and Logistics Somalia Limited.
Documents required for import clearance include the commercial invoice and packing list, and 1 copy of the original bill of lading.

Berbera
Maersk accepts shipments to and from the Port of Berbera. Imports to Somalia arrive at Berbera on our fortnightly feeder from Salalah, and are stripped from the container and loaded onto conventional trucks on the terminal. The maximum gross weight limit for Berbera that the vessel can handle is 30mts, so the cargo limits are 28mts for a 20' and 26mts for a 40', or the container payload, whichever is the lower.
Freight charges can be paid in Somalia or in Djibouti with the agreement of our agent, Integrated Shipping Services.
Documents required for import clearance include the commercial invoice and packing list, and three copies of the original bill of lading.

Mogadishu
Weight limits - The maximum weight limit on our carrier vessel is 35mts.
Cargo is unloaded from the container in the terminal. Containers are not allowed outside the port gates.
Please note that goods prohibited under Islamic law cannot be imported into Somalia - this includes narcotics, Weapons and war ammunition, Pornographic Publications, Political and religious material, counterfeit goods, toxic waste and foodstuff with insufficient shelf life.

Berbera
Weight limits - the crane limit on our feeder vessel is 30mts, which basis 28mts is the maximum that can be loaded in a 20' container and 26mts in a 40' container.
Cargo is unloaded from the container in the terminal. Containers are not allowed outside the port gates.
Please note that goods prohibited under Islamic law cannot be imported into Somalia - this includes prohibited foodstuffs, counterfeits, alcohol, narcotics, Weapons and was ammunition, Pornographic Publications, toxic waste and certain printed material. Further, we are unfortunately unable to deal with refrigerated cargo in Berbera at the moment. Oversize hazardous and special cargo is acceptable on a case by case basis, please contact us with the details.
