Decarbonising logistics and services
Our landside emissions account for 5.7% of our total footprint, but they are of growing significance for our business, our customers, and for society in general.
Why landside decarbonisation matters
Our goal is to achieve net zero emissions across all Maersk scopes and business by 2040. But to ensure our decarbonisation strategy delivers real end-to-end impact, we need to tackle complexity on the ground, as well the ocean.
The way we work across Logistics and Services differs significantly from our oceanside business. Services are typically regional, with different regulations, and we are rarely the asset owner. To lead the transition, we need regional and product-specific adaptations enabled by improved emissions data and analytics, as well as certification.
Our priorities and actions for logistics and services
Strengthening our ability to offer our customers end-to-end decarbonised logistics solutions is a strategic priority for our business. We have developed a specific programme for our inland and logistics service offerings, with particular focus on products that are most relevant from an emissions and customer perspective.
We will deliver an emergency response to the climate crisis and take leadership in the transformation of the transport and logistics sector to net zero operations.

Inland decarbonisation programme
Launched in 2021, our inland decarbonization program serves customers with end-to-end decarbonized logistics solutions. Key solutions cover medium and heavy-duty transport by truck, rail or barge, contract logistics and cold chain, air freight and emissions transparency.
Transformational action and customer solutions require fully transparent and reliable emissions data, which can be credibly analyzed and certified by an independent third party. We will develop a more comprehensive set of KPIs and targets over the next years to report on dedicated initiatives across the value chain.
