Service Description
This optional service includes Maersk's centralized management of rail appointment bookings, enabling reliable access and providing the following benefits:
- Secures rail terminal access for truckers in alignment with vessel cut-off requirements
- Reduces the risk of missed bookings and associated penalties
- Improves execution reliability through integrated token management and inland planning
Surcharge Applicability
- Applicable to all rail export shipments where inland transportation is performed under Carrier Haulage (CH)
- Applies to both dry and reefer containers, unless otherwise specified in customer agreements
- Charged per container and reflected as a separate line item on the invoice under surcharge code IAE
- Applies at the time of execution based on the ocean move associated with the booking
- Not applicable where explicit contractual exclusions or agreed exceptions are in place
