We are writing to inform you of an extension to the temporary restriction previously communicated regarding inland mode changes for cross-border shipments moving from the US East Coast into Canada.
Due to continued elevated import volumes at the US East Coast ports of Newark and Philadelphia, inland capacity remains limited. To maintain service integrity and avoid congestion, the restriction on changing the inland mode of transport from rail to truck will now remain in effect until the end of Week 32.
Please note the following:
- All bookings already confirmed as truck cross-border moves will proceed as scheduled.
- Exceptions will continue to be made for containers that are overweight for rail transport and must be moved by truck.
- We are actively monitoring the situation and will notify you immediately should conditions improve, and the restriction be lifted earlier than Week 32.
We thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain reliable service and smooth inland flows across the network.
