Port Au Prince - Haiti Situation Update 02

During the last weeks, Haiti has faced challenges linked to the outcomes of its civil unrest situation, which has impacted import and export operations from Port Au Prince, as customers have not been able to enter the port to drop or pick up their containers.

Port Yard Density: The dry equipment area is nearing full capacity, while the reefer cargo section is at full capacity. For now, vessels have no problem operating in this port, but the complexity of capacity is increasing and becoming concerning.

Your supply chain is of the utmost importance to us hence we would like to suggest you make the following modification to safeguard your cargo:

  • Request Change of Destination to continue with the cargo transit.

In case this is a suitable option for you to continue with your supply chain, please request it to your customer service agent. Our teams are always available and happy to support you in case you need any additional assistance.

This is a recommendation due to Haiti current situation and the potential impact it could have on your cargo. All costs involved will have to be considered by your company.
