Poland Inland Transportation Rate Adjustment

At Maersk, we are committed to providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable inland transportation solutions that support your supply chain across Poland and Europe.

To ensure continued service reliability and maintain the quality of our transportation network, Maersk will implement an adjustment to inland transportation tariffs in Poland effective 1 October 2026.

Scope of Adjustment

The adjustment will apply to the following services:

Cargo routed via German Ports

• Direct Trucking Deliveries
• Intermodal (Rail) Deliveries

Cargo routed via Port of Gdansk

• Direct Trucking Deliveries

Updated rates will be reflected in applicable quotations, tariffs, and contractual agreements in accordance with existing commercial terms. New rates will be applied with ocean bookings price calculation date (PCD) logic.

Why Are Rates Changing?

The transportation market continues to face inflationary and regulatory cost pressures across Poland and Europe.

Rising Transportation Costs

Transport providers are experiencing continued increases in:

• Labor and driver-related costs
• Vehicle maintenance and spare parts expenses
• Insurance and compliance costs
• Fleet renewal and operational investments

These developments continue to impact the overall economics of inland transportation services throughout the region.

Increased Road User Charges

In addition to operational cost inflation, transportation networks are facing higher infrastructure charges. Recent adjustments to Poland's e-TOLL system and increases in road charging schemes across Europe have resulted in higher transportation costs for freight movements within Poland and between Poland and Germany.

Impact on German Port Cargo Flows

Transportation connected with German gateways has also been affected by the introduction of CO₂-related road toll components and expanded toll requirements for commercial vehicles in Germany.

These measures have increased costs associated with trucking services and intermodal first/last-mile transportation connected to German ports.
