This is to notify that Maersk are not monitoring shipments for BMSB compliance this season. It is the Shipper/Consignee’s responsibility to ensure their cargo meets the BMSB requirements.
Maersk will continue to offer fumigation services at transhipment hubs in Malaysia and Singapore as well as in some origin countries in Europe, in order to assist with Australia and New Zealand BMSB regulatory requirements.
For AU: All Open tops, Flat racks and OOG cargo failing to be BMSB compliant, will be retained on board the vessel, back to origin or transhipment for fumigation. All costs will be with the customer.
For NZ: If any cargo fails to be BMSB compliant, it will be retained on board the vessel, back to origin or transhipment for fumigation. All costs will be with the customer.
Should you have any questions about the current 2022-23 BMSB seasonal measures within Australia and New Zealand, please do not hesitate to contact your Maersk representative.
