TATL – East Coast North America situation

Over the course of the last month, we have seen changes in the operational situation in the East Coast of North America, affecting the waiting time of our vessels in various ports. This has resulted in an impact in the delays your cargo is facing and increased the transit time accordingly. This is largely due to the growing congestion in some ports, linked both to a higher number of vessels compared to terminal capacity and the shortage of yard space caused by longstanding containers.

In order to be transparent, we have updated our systems with the most realistic schedules as we see them today, meaning that you will see for present and future bookings increased transit times to reflect the current operational situation. Most our vessels call several of those ports, increasing the impact on the transit time of your cargo. We are of course continuing our efforts to deal with these challenges by reviewing our network, working with terminals to perform operations more efficiently, and helping our customers to collect or evacuate their containers longstanding on the container yards. We understand it is a very challenging environment, and we are doing our outmost to mitigate the impact on your supply chain.

To help you understand better, we also wanted to share what we see as the current delays on the main ports in the East Coast of the United States. Please bear in mind that this is a dynamic situation and waiting time below are subject to change. Given the fluidity of the situation, we will keep you updated when the situation evolves in one or several of below ports.

• Newark PNCT: Up to 3 weeks
• Charleston: 2 to 3 days
• Savannah: 8 to 12 days
• Houston: Up to 2 weeks
• Miami: 3 to 5 days
• Freeport: 3 to 5 days
