Given the ongoing New Zealand port congestion and delays, the actual arrival and departure times along New Zealand coast might vary.
During the past 18 months we have continued to review our Ocean Network to limit impact from the global supply chain disruption for our Oceania customers and from Q4’21 we have consistently delivered a schedule reliability performance between 70-100% higher than the market average on the Oceania to Asia Trade. In March, our New Zealand backbone service the Southern Star delivered 100% reliability. This performance has been achieved by adding additional vessels to our New Zealand services as well as deploying additional services to increase flexibility of our network and increasing schedule buffer. Whilst the Sirius Star service has been key to connect cargo across New Zealand during the 2022 peak season, we continue to face missed connections negatively impacting our customers supply chains and cargo flows. Due to restricted flexibility to alter the port rotation of the Sirius Star service, we have made the decision to restructure our Oceania network to enable improved cargo connections and supply chain stability.
Further details on the Maersk future network will be announced later in the month of June.
We thank you in advance for your kind cooperation and understanding. Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your local Maersk representative, or contact our Customer Service team on 0800 MAERSK (623 775).
