As per our communication in March, continuous operational disruptions have had a significant impact on the global supply chain and caused critical yard density levels at the NTB terminal at Bremerhaven. Maersk has been keeping a close eye on developments since then, however the situation has not improved and we will now implement additional measures to minimise the disruption to your cargo and the empty equipment supply.
To combat the congestion levels at Bremerhaven, we now urge you to clear your cargo from the terminal as soon as possible and pick up your merchant haulage cargo within 48 hours after discharge, irrespective of agreed freetimes.
Containers that are not being picked up within this timeframe may be moved by Maersk to our Addicks & Kreye storage facility in Bremerhaven, where you will be able to pick up your cargo the following day.
Your Customer Experience representative will inform you of this move if you’re affected, as well as the new details needed for customs clearance and pick up. Your demurrage and detention agreements will still be valid at Addicks & Kreye.
Our absolute priority is keeping your supply chain moving, and we hope to have your support to ensure operations run as smoothly as possible in Bremerhaven despite the circumstances.
Maersk teams are here to serve you, so if you have any questions please reach out to your local Customer Experience team. We look forward to continuously serving your global logistics needs.
