The increasing severity of the winter weather across the Atlantic is once again approaching at a rapid pace. Over the recent years, this has led to the deterioration in reliability on the trades which Maersk plans to operate through a planned winter schedule. The schedule will cover all our current Mediterranean to North America routes: TA5 and TA6.
Most carriers are facing difficulties with ad hoc omissions to restore vessel schedules which can also lead to subsequent short shipments and delays. These omissions inevitably create immediate disruptions but serve the greater goal of ensuring reliability to your supply chains. To help us counter this dynamic and keep ships on schedule we have put a series of omissions into the TA5 and TA6.
The schedules will be updated in our booking system and, for those ports that are impacted and where we have the ability to offer an alternative sailing or routing the same week, these options will be available to you.
For now, the Winter plan will cover three months from November until end of January 2022, covering as well potential disruptions closer to Christmas period.
