New policy for invoicing Demurrage and detention charges for Import longstanding containers
We would like to express our sincere thanks for your continued support for Maersk service.
As per the existing standard practice, Maersk provides the accrued estimated Detention & Demurrage charges for Import containers upon request. Our Online Demurrage & Detention Calculator would help you calculate Demurrage & Detention charges for your shipment with few clicks. Alternatively, a standard Detention & Demurrage tariff is uploaded on our website for your self estimation.
Meanwhile, we are now introducing a new initiative whereby we will offer a ’pro-active’ service to our valued customers.
Effective from July 2nd 2021, Demurrage and Detention invoices will be sent to you every week after cargo discharge. Any applicable standard or special free time will be excluded. Invoices shall be settled prior shipment clearance as usual.
With the new process, we aim at providing the full transparency in terms of the Demurrage and Detention costs involved for the discharged containers from an early stage.
