Maersk wishes to advise our customers that the Industry wide disruption in Australia has resulted in significant congestion at our empty container depots. To enable safe working conditions, our empty container depots have been forced to intermittently stop acceptance of empty containers into their yards.
The situation in Sydney is becoming critical why the possibility to redirect containers to alternative container depots are extremely limited. Following significant move count restrictions implemented by Container Terminals, we have a limited ability to evacuate empty containers to reduce the high yard density at our empty container depots.
Our local team are working with Industry to address this critical situation daily. We encourage all or customers to monitor the situation on Container Chains website directly for the latest update.
We appreciate the Industry cooperation during these unprecedented times. Kindly ensure that you and your consignees monitor depot availability and return empty containers as soon as feasible.
