As you may be aware, for customs and company internal processes it is crucial to have correct identification of all parties involved in shipping process. This may be easily done by requesting TAX (Identification ) number at the time of code creation for every new and existing customer, which has not been mandatory field up to now.

Coming out of above hereby would like to inform you that as of October 1, 2020 TAX (Registration) number and personal identification number for physical persons is becoming mandatory field for Maersk. In case of noncompliance company will not create new customer codes which in the end may affect documentation process.

In order to speed up the above process for existing customers we kindly ask you to provide your company TAX (Identification) number or Personal Identification number (in case of physical person) on following e-mail: GE.Import@maersk.com.

Please also note that it is required to provide shipper/consignee tax (Identification) or Personal number while submitting Shipping Instructions at our website, which will ensure it is automatically reflected in the bill of lading.
