COVID-19 Updates - Saudi Arabia

We would like to offer you our latest update on the outbreak of COVID-19 and any impact to Maersk’s operations in Saudi Arabia.

Maersk leadership teams, as well as management in all other areas where cases of COVID-19 have been identified, are closely monitoring the situation as part of our strong commitment to ensure the safety of our employees whilst working towards mitigating any possible impact to our customers’ operations.

General Status

As you are aware, we are dealing with a rapidly evolving situation globally in relation to the spread of COVID-19. To ensure the safety of our customers and staff in line with governmental guidelines we are introducing changes to our counter process in Saudi Arabia effective 31th March 2020 until further notice.

Operations update

All Maersk operations including terminals, offices, warehousing, and other facilities continue to operate uninterrupted as per usual. Our Customer Service teams in Supply Chain Management and Ocean are accessible per regular working hours. For our counter services, we are taking measures to continue to ensure seamless service and we will communicate any new developments on the same

Export Bill of lading Collection

  • Transfer payment to our bank account (details mentioned below) and send the transfer details along with shipment numbers to our email address mentioned below.
  • Next day, approach the office with payment receipt and authorization letter to collect the bill of lading between 11:00AM to 12:00PM.
  • We encourage you to use the option of seaway bill and E-Bill of lading Facilities.

Import Delivery orders

Against Seaway Bill

  • Transfer payment to our bank account, attach Sea Way Bill copy, Authorization letter, payment slip, customer import number and send it to below mention email address.
  • Details will be verified, and delivery order issued on email.

Against Original Bill of Lading

  • Transfer payment to our bank account.
  • Drop the Original Bill of lading, authorization letter, payment slip in an envelope at the OBL drop box located in Jeddah, Dammam counters.
  • Please mention name and phone number on the envelope.
  • Scan all the above documents duly stamped, signed with date, mention import customer number and send to our email address.
  • Details will be verified, and delivery order will be released next day via email.
  • Delivery Order for Dammam bonded area shipments will be handed over with stamp next day between 11:00AM to 12:00PM.

There have so far been no reports of any Maersk employee being tested positive for Coronavirus in Saudi Arabia. The company has undertaken significant proactive preventive measures to ensure we best safeguard our employees’ health and safety and continue to manage our day-to-day operations with little or no impact to our customers’ supply chains.
Our Emergency Management Teams are monitoring the situation daily and we continue to review specific procedures and guidelines across all Maersk offices. All Maersk offices have solid Business Contingency Plan (BCP) ready, in case the situation escalates.
