General Status

In connection with our recent offer on a Temporary Export Storage Facility and in order to provide further solutions to our customers, when production facilities slow down or close and existing customers’ warehouses are filling up, we wish to assist further with four solutions: 

Forward Storage+ is designed for customers who need to store containers in a hub port while in transit. It enables a fast delivery and reduced time to market when the final location has been chosen and cargo can be received at destination.

Italy WND addresses the need for traditional fulfilment warehousing, where customers require storage of cargo for a given period of time, before final distribution to shops or further production can be executed.

Import depot is designed for storing containers in rail-connected depots until cargo can be delivered to the final destination. Also with such solution, customers keep the flexibility to decide where and when to deliver the boxes to the final destination, while cargo is in the depot. The service is always offered together with carrier haulage.

Export depot allows customers to ship cargo out of their production facilities and store until cargo can be loaded on the vessels. This product allows to overcome the obstacles related to a total lockdown. All depots are rail connected, so to prevent the cargo from being impacted by potential further restrictions  placed on free movement of commercial cargo. The service is always offered together with carrier haulage.

In view of the additional limitations imposed by the Italian government in order to ensure the safety of the population and to put a stop to the COVID-19 outbreak we would like to inform you that Maersk will continue to be fully operational with all the staff working remotely from the safety of their own home.

In order to be fully compliant with the regulations we will keep our office in Genoa open two days per week, Mondays and Thursdays, from 09:00 to 17:00, in order to perform the activities that require a physical presence, such as:

  • Printing and shipping original BLs
  • Receiving BLs and other relevant documents
  • Shipping BL paper for in house printing of BLs

We would like to remind you that that we are also providing you alternatives for the above activities:

  • You can use the telex release option or the seaway BL.
  • Original BLs printing can be done from the comfort of your home, or, should you want to, from any Maersk office around the world. The Maersk office in Koper, Slovenia is the closest one to Italy.
  • Original BLs can be surrendered also at the office of our port agents throughout Italy, which are fully operational in these day, but also at any Maersk office around the world.
