Used tyres: - Not accepted into any Chilean port
Used tyres are not accepted in Chile, with exception of cargo in transit to Bolivia. A particular clause needs to be included in the Bill of Lading.
Fireworks: Not accepted into Chilean port / exception just based in approval.
Used Auto Parts: - Vehicle cabins and chassis are not accepted. Other used autoparts are accepted.
Used cars: - In general, not accepted in Chile except for:
- Free zones (CLIQQ, CLARI ports) however cars can only be driven inside those cities and not along the country.
- Chileans who have lived abroad for more than one year, are returning to the country and have not stayed for more than 30 days in Chile within that period: they can bring one car for personal use.
- If cars are going to other countries (e.g. Bolivia) please check Service Catalogue page for that specific country.
If the car is older than 1995 it is not likely to get the approval, so it will only be possible to drive the car on specific days of the week.
Cargo Documentation Description must include Brands, Model and Chassis Number of any car, and do not overcome 2,000 characters in total.
We don’t accept express release BL
In chile we do accept the non-freight OBL, however if customer needs to know the freight, due to country policy we need to show it. In this case we add the TOTAL amount not showing the details.
Due customs request, BCO customers must present freight BL copy to customs as documentation process.
We only accept import shipment for Household goods and personal effects if consignee is a FFW.
IMO Cargo: - IMO CARGO Class 6.1 is not accepted on San Antonio Terminal International SA. And IMO cargo transshipment is not allowed in CLSAI Port of San Antonio, only POD San Antonio Port is accepted.
IMO CARGO (from IMO CLASS 1 to IMO CLASS 9) is not accepted VIA ARICA PORT.
Operation shipments: - Operation shipments are not allowed for POD Chile, you must proceed with SPLIT and created Combine Bls for these new shipments. For cargo that included SD service, it is important to note that process will include delivery service until customer facilities only if customs clearance is done at discharge port. In case that customer requires to do the clearance in a different port, the SD service will be just until to the primary zone of the selected destination, ending our truck service and responsibility in that point. D&D starts the day when unit has been discharged and any D&D cost will be not assumed by Maersk.
Non-freight OBL acceptance: We do accept non-freight condition, however if consignee request to show the rates, then as per Chilean customs mandatory requirements we must inform it. In this case we add the TOTAL amount not showing the freight detail. Used tyres are not accepted in Chile, with exception of cargo in transit to Bolivia. A particular clause needs to be included in the Bill of Lading.
In Imports to Chile, the information of the Seals and the Tax Number in the consignee must be included in the first Shipping Instruction, otherwise there could be errors in the import manifest in the local Customs by not including this information at the time of departure.
