What governing regulations affect bookings on US trades?
For US trades, each spot booking is a contract. The FMC (Federal Maritime Commission) requires that a contract is agreed with FMC prior to container gate-in and the signing parties must be legal entities approved by FMC. Maersk will file the contract within 30 days after agreement.
