We would like to provide an update on our operations in Venezuela following the current situation affecting the country.
The safety and wellbeing of our employees, partners, and the communities where we operate remain our highest priority. We continue to closely monitor developments and work with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of our people while minimizing disruption to our customers’ supply chains.
At this time, commercial operations at the Port of La Guaira have not yet been authorized to resume. As a result, import and export shipments through this terminal remain suspended until further notice. Please note that Maersk continues to operate in Venezuela through all other ports in the country, with the exception of La Guaira.
Acceptance of new bookings from the Intra-Americas network to La Guaira has been suspended due to the current situation at that location. Bookings from all other origins to La Guaira will continue to be accepted until further notice.
In addition, returns of empty containers should be directed to our container depot in Puerto Cabello until further notice.
We understand the importance of keeping your supply chain moving and are working closely with our local teams to provide alternative solutions wherever possible.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available. If you have any questions regarding your cargo or bookings, please contact your local Maersk representative.
Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership.
