In light of the ongoing rolling situation we face on the SAECS from the North Europe ports we would like to provide you some information on the challenges and actions taken to alleviate this situation.
Since early January we faced severe delays on our schedule due to the congestion in the North Europe ports and the weather conditions in South Africa leading to delays on the rotation with no sufficient buffer to recover. In order to improve our schedule reliability and provide an improved visibility on your supply chain, we decided to change the SAECS proforma as below:
- We are adding a northbound call in Algeciras
- We are adding seven days of buffer to the Cape Town call, which extends the rotation to 70 days. Thus every ten weeks there will be one structural reset week with no departure
- 1st vessel of new rotation : Santa Rita 221N etd 05/05/2022 from Port Elizabeth
With this new proforma, we hope to provide you the best ability to manage your supply chain which is of paramount importance to us and we are working to give you everything you need to run your global logistics in these circumstances.
We look forward to continuing working with you in the future. In case of any questions, please contact your local Maersk Customer Experience team or sales representatives.
