Extension of NEU – Transatlantic Winter Plan

The severity of the weather across the Atlantic at the end of 2021 forced Maersk to operate a winter schedule for its North Europe to North America routes, looking to minimise disruption and enhance reliability for customers.

TA1, TA2 and TA3 services were subject to existing Winter Schedules (Cycle 2) planned until beginning of February. With current bottlenecks seen across the North America network, we have agreed to continue with an extended Winter Schedule (Cycle 3) planned until April 2022.

The situation in North America is driven by several factors, including local congestion in US terminals, but Maersk is doing all in its power to combat the circumstances and minimise their impact on customers until normal service resumes.

Rest assured, changes to the schedules have been carefully considered to ensure customer supply chains keep moving. Maersk will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation and act accordingly to continue providing a reliable service to customers.

These schedules have been updated in our booking system, and for those ports that are impacted and where we have the ability to offer an alternative sailing or routing the same week, these options will be available to you. We expect that this program will vastly improve the customer experience with Maersk, as sudden changes to your cargo plan will have less of an impact.
