Network announcement - Introducing Polaris and changes to Sirius Star

With the ongoing schedule disruption and terminal congestion in Oceania, Maersk continues to invest in introducing additional vessels to limit impact to our customers by restoring network reliability and continuing to offer a superior port coverage in Oceania.

In order to enhance the schedule reliability of our services in Oceania, we are today announcing two exciting changes to our Oceania service Network:

• The introduction of a new service, The Polaris, connecting Brisbane with the New Zealand ports of Timaru and Lyttelton.
• An improved and simplified service rotation of the Sirius Star service to improve reliability and enable stable connections between New Zealand outports and our mainliner network.

The Polaris – A new dedicated Trans Tasman Service

Starting from MAERSK NANSHA Timaru port call on the 11th of January 2022, the dedicated service between Brisbane and New Zealand will be launched to offer our customers improved cargo connections within Oceania.

Sirius Star – Changes to Port Coverage to improve schedule reliability

Starting from SEASPAN HANNOVER / 145W voyage, the rotation of the Sirius Star will be adjusted to following

SUVA – LAUTOKA – TAURANGA – AUCKLAND – NELSON – TIMARU – LYTTELTON – TAURANGA

The new proforma rotation will be effective from SEASPAN HANNOVER / 145W departing Fiji on 2nd of January 2022.
