In recent months we have seen a global shortage of containers which has been further compounded by bottlenecks across global supply chains caused by the general volatility resulting from the pandemic.
We continue to work hard to mitigate the effects felt by our customers through various initiatives such as injecting additional containers into our fleet as well as increased speed and frequency of repositioning equipment. We continue to find solutions with customers and partners across our network to better serve their needs during these volatile times.
Due to the above, Maersk will be revising the Import Demurrage and Detention Tariffs from 15 August 2021 into Berbera.
We would like to once again encourage all customers to turn around containers as quickly as possible to assist in easing the global shortage and ensuring we are able to return these containers into the fleet to cover the demand for exports.
