To keep providing you with our global services, Maersk will be implementing a registration fee of Additional Service Import (ASI) of ZAR 1000 per container effective 15th January 2021, for all uncleared in South Africa at 27 days post discharge.
The registration fee is applicable to all cargo which has not been cleared with SARS by the customer and subsequently moved to a bonded facility pending clearance as required by local customs in South Africa. If the cargo has not been cleared by day 27, Maersk will notify the Consignee on same and register the uncleared cargo with the Stateswarehouse.
The service and administration fee will be levied and will be payable as part of the release process.
Following this registration, release may still be done by the relevant party upon payment of the charges owing and completion of the Stateswarehouse procedure after the clearance is done.
If you have any questions, please contact our customer service teams or our Maersk website.
We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing working with you in the future.
