We would like to inform you that the terminal yard density for reefer units at Yantian has reached critical levels. We have been diverting cargo due to this situation of limited reefer plug availability.
The best option for you is to book directly to other nearby ports - Nansha or Chiwan. If Yantian delivery is necessary for your cargo, Maersk will, until further notice, accept reefer bookings into Yantian strictly on the following conditions
- We cannot guarantee the cargo routing nor take any responsibility for the delivery time. There is a possibility that cargo arriving in Yantian is being diverted to alternative locations until it can receive reefers again.
- Maersk will apply effective 16th July 2020 based on PCD booking a congestion surcharge of USD $1,000 per container for ALL reefer cargo arriving into Yantian to cover the additional cost. Any regulated corridor will have effective date starting from 16th August 2020.
For cargo already in transit, you can contact your local customer service to divert your cargo to other nearby ports or markets to avoid delivery time delay.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will determine if further actions are required depending on future developments.
For your reference, we have also included the levels and rate structure for some sample corridors from Rotterdam, NL valid from today until further notice.
These may be subject to future change; however, we will make sure to notify you accordingly.
The new tariff levels are as follows
Rotterdam, NL to Yantian, CN
