Transit Disruption Surcharge (TDS) and Emergency Contingency Surcharge (ECS) from/to Colombia

As we have been communicating since mid-December/’23, Maersk is continiously monitoring developments around the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden and making carefully considered changes to services to ensure the safety of our seafarers, vessels, and customers’ cargo.

The situation is constantly evolving and remains highly volatile, and all available intelligence at hand confirms that the security risk continues to be at a significantly elevated level. We have therefore decided that all Maersk vessels due to transit the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden will be diverted south around the Cape of Good Hope for the foreseeable future.

By suspending voyages through the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden, we hope to bring our customers more consistency and predictability despite the associated delays that come with the re-routing.

The previously announced surcharges for all cargo on vessels affected by the disruptions around the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden remain in effect:

Transit Disruption Surcharge (TDS) effective as from actual sailing date 28/01/2024 until further notice.

TDS will apply only to bookings confirmed as from 21/12/2023 (global announcement date) and departure date as from 28/01/2024 onwards.

Emergency Contingency Surcharge (ECS) effective as from actual sailing date 28/01/2024 until further notice.

ECS will apply only to bookings confirmed as of 21/12/2023 (global announcement date) and departure date as from 28/01/2024 onwards.
