Meet our team

Maxine – Consultant

The past 1.5 years in my first ever full time job has been one of my most refreshing experiences till date and 3 things come to mind when I reflect upon my journey at MMC.

Firstly, there has been a continuous investment in my growth journey ever since Day 1. Regular catch ups with the leadership team such as my line manager and associate principal allow me to gain constant feedback and insights on developing myself as a consultant. Annually, our very own Development committee organises a training trip to Austria where we get to strengthen our consulting toolbox (with a great view of the Austrian alps in the background)!

Next, the exposure and interaction with the rest of the organisation never fails to remind me of how multi-dimensional Maersk is. From speaking to a Key Client Manager to understand Nike’s supply chain, to following a trucker on his usual daily drives and to visiting terminals in 3 different countries – the opportunities to learn about the business are open and endless.

Finally, I enjoy MMC for always instilling a great culture of fun across the team – skiing in Kitzbuhel, wine tasting in the vineyards of Italy, go karting in Malaysia are some of the most enjoyable moments I have to date.

Kirill – Project Leader

Most of my career has been so far centered around management consulting. I started my journey externally (Deloitte Consulting and Boston Consulting Group) later moving closer to the business, joining Maersk Management Consulting (MMC) in June 2021.

I like MMC for the balanced environment that we have created - with impactful work and broad opportunities for self-development. Working at MMC I get the chance to acquire deep industry expertise and contribute to the very important changes at Maersk. We help our colleagues take a lot of key decisions that often get implemented right after the project ends. At the same time, MMC as a team nurtures a safe space where I feel free to be myself, openly discussing different ideas and being able to create something new. Working on projects we try to stay independent and provide an unbiased and out-of-the-box opinion. Internally we push for creativity, developing a lot of initiatives to make us perform even better.

On top of that, working as a consultant with colleagues from all parts of Maersk I am getting a well-shaped perspective on my future career development opportunities. Since our company is huge there are almost unlimited opportunities: from working as a product developer to becoming an expert in niche areas like finance (through M&A/private equity/ venture capital), sustainability or tech.

Meet our alumni

Anders - Head of Supply Chain Development Center, Former Project Leader at MMC

Anders joined Maersk Management Consulting as he wanted to transition to business from his PhD. MMC stood out as an opportunity to work uniquely with one of Denmark’s leading companies – Maersk.

"My two most memorable projects with MMC are building “Container Cloud” with APMT – a tool that provides advanced analytics on container flows to/from competitor terminals, providing our teams better insight to bid on liner volumes, and developing Maersk’s first insurance product - “Maersk Value Protect” from scratch. Both initiatives have since become fully fledged tools and products used in-house and sold today.

Today, as Head of Center for SCD, I am responsible for managing a team of Supply Chain specialist across Europe. We sit with Maersk’s Key Clients to review their Supply Chain needs and evaluate how best to leverage Maersk products to deliver value. When we are unable to cater for client needs, we work closely with Vertical Leads and Product Owners to develop the capabilities."
