Taking this opportunity to again reiterate the importance of submitting Verified Gross Mass (VGM) in accurate and timely manner.
We would like you to work together with us to eliminate all these unfortunate incidents from happening to any of your cargo. Hence, it is very critical for you to ensure timely and accurate VGM is being declare in terminal system.
Maersk reserves the right to charge a Weight discrepancy fee in any of the below three situations including missing VGM declaration.
- Discrepancy between VGM and weight in shipping instruction cannot be more than 5000 kgs.
- Declared VGM cannot exceeded allowable payload as per CSC Plate (excluding SOC).
- Declared VGM is cannot be less than Tare Weight of the container.
What does this mean to you?
Effective 15th March 2022, if any of your container was found to be violated any of these above checks including missing VGM declaration, Weight discrepancy fee of USD 100 per container will be impose to your shipment. In addition to it, your container would unfortunately replan to the next vessel until correct VGM is being declared.
Therefore, we encourage you to declare the weight timely and accurate to prevent any unfavorable situation happened.
