Diversity and Inclusion

At Maersk, we're building a culture where everyone can feel at home. We don't just work across continents, we work across different genders, generations, cultures, sexual orientations, religions, disabilities and perspectives.

Together, we succeed as one global team. We want to encourage innovation and empower our teams to share new ways of thinking, making the most of our diverse talents. But it’s also about feeling involved and encouraged to be yourself.

We’re excited for you to become part of our team and fully join in the adventure ahead.

International Women's Day 2022

Gender diversity has been and continues to be a priority for Maersk’s Diversity & Inclusion agenda and we use International Women’s Day as a platform to highlight these challenges faced by women in our industry and progress along the way.

The Transport & Logistics industry has traditionally been a male dominated industry, and this is no different for Maersk. For a number of years we have focused on increasing the representation of women at all levels. Our ambition to increase gender diversity at all levels has now been elevated in 2022 as a key driver into our Environment, Social and Governance strategy.

Together we can forge gender equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.

Policies and target

Why would we only hire from 50% of the global talent pool? Increasing the gender representation of the talent applying to work for Maersk means that we are able to hire from the widest talent pool.

Anti-harassment and Discrimination Policy

All of our colleagues have a responsibility to upholding zero tolerance to discrimination, harassment, bullying and violence. Read our Anti-discrimination, Harassment, Bullying and Violence Policy to find out more.

Challenging the status quo

Research tells us that gender stereotypes about careers can start at a young age. We teamed up with some primary school students in Helsingor, Denmark to put this theory to the test and show the next generation that opportunities are for everyone.

A culture of inclusion with diverse talent and perspectives is essential for Maersk's growth and success.

Women in Transport and Logistics

The Transport and logistics industry has traditionally been male dominated. Because of this, we're increasing the representation of women in Maersk at all levels. Improving the diversity of our leadership also helps us better reflect and understand the diverse markets we serve. Progress is steady, but we still have a long way to go.

We're also part of The Diversity Council, an organisation dedicated to advancing more women into top level management. Discover more

She trades

In 2018, ITC SheTrades and Maersk launched a partnership to help female entrepreneurs who use logistics and shipping. Why have we partnered? Many female-led businesses face a variety of export barriers, so we've offered our tools and services to accelerate growth and provide access to new global markets.
