Do I need to provide a Harmonised System (HS) code and where can I find the correct code?
It’s essential to use HS codes on your cargo to identify the commodities being transported. Shipping Instructions with an incomplete six-digit HS code will not be processed.
There are many HS codes, and they are revised every few years. You can make sure you are using the correct codes for each commodity in your cargo by checking the following pages:
- The up-to-date list of HS codes (HS-2022)
- World Customs Organization’s handy HS tool.
- If in doubt, check out our explainer article on HS codes.
