A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S: Intention to Sell Shares of Danske Bank A/S

Today, A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S has announced its intention to divest its remaining ownership stake in Danske Bank A/S, a company listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen, (“Danske Bank”).

A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S currently owns 16,163,504 shares, corresponding to approx. 1.6 percent of the total number of shares and votes in Danske Bank.

The price per share will be determined through an accelerated bookbuilding process to institutional investors. The book building period commences end of business today, 1 November 2016, and may close at any time on short notice.

A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S expects to hold no shares in Danske Bank following the divestment. J.P. Morgan and Nordea are acting as Joint Bookrunners in connection with the divestment.

A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S divested the majority of its original ownership interest in Danske Bank (corresponding to 202,209,171 shares) back in March 2015. The sale was finalised with 85 percent ordered by A.P. Møller Holding A/S and 7 percent by other shareholders. The proceeds from the sale were distributed by A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S as an extraordinary dividend of USD 5.2 billion in April 2015.
