As a reminder on the previous communication, we confirm that Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) will be implementing the Unassigned Container Fee as of discharge 1st July 2020.

As a recap, this fee relates to containers unassigned on NAVIS, landing at DCT (Pier 1 and 2). The fee will be billed to all shipping lines, in line with other terminal costs including terminal handling and storage, and therefore this fee will need to be passed to our customers.

Maersk will maintain the documentation deadline on a vessel basis, for the receipt of import release documents. To align with TPT, should documents not be received prior to the advertised deadline, the costs for unassigned containers from the terminal together with a fee to reconcile and administer this process will be applicable.

The surcharge to be utilized is Unassigned Container Fee Import (UCI) for all import cargo into Durban, South Africa, which includes the admin cost of ZAR 200 per container.

  • 20’ container ZAR 1356
  • 40’ container ZAR 1934
  • 45’ container ZAR 2508
