Weight discrepancy fee introduction: Malaysia to World

We want your experience with us to be straight forward, we have taken an initiative towards Safety due to variance between weight provided. The most recent incident in Jan-2020 occurred on Aotea Maersk where a container stack collapsed due to a weight discrepancy.

We would like you to work together with us to eliminate all these unfortunate incidents from happening to any of your cargo. Hence, it is very critical for you to ensure accurate and correct VGM is being declare in terminal system.

Please note, effective 15-June-2020, we will verify & compare the declared weight by performing below 3 checks

  • Discrepancy between VGM and weight in shipping instruction cannot be more than 5000 kgs.
  • Declared VGM cannot exceeded allowable payload as per CSC Plate (excluding SOC).
  • Declared VGM is cannot be less than Tare Weight of the container.

What does this mean to you?
If any of your containers was found to be violated any of these 3 checks, Weight discrepancy fee of USD 100 per bill of lading will be impose to your shipment. In addition to it, your container would unfortunately roll to the next vessel until correct VGM is being declared.

Therefore, we encourage you to declare the accurate and correct weight to prevent any unfavorable situation happened.
